Your first impression of the southernmost of the three Danish Wadden Sea islands starts when you cross the dam that gives you access to the island. On the trip from the mainland to the island, there is ample opportunity to observe birds, and maybe even to move side by side with the impressive sea eagle.

We meet at Havneby Kro, where our guided tour starts 10,000 years back in time. We walk high tide in meeting and step out into The Land of Long Ago. On the walk, which is a maximum of 4 km long, we make stops along the way and let the tales unfold one by one, tales, science and myths intertwine with opportunities to taste the raw gold nuggets of the Wadden Sea, as well as take a dip in the salty sea that connects us strongly to the Wadden Sea.

Back at Havneby Kro, we finish the stories by the fire and warm ourselves on a cup of hot drink.

After this, there is an oyster workshop, where you learn the art of opening oysters and cooking them in editions such as “Biskoppens Kärlek”, “Arresterens Lunge”, “Maren Splids Hemminghed”, “Væterens Godnat Oysters” and the Rømø edition “Helle med Sidecar”.

The evening ends with a buffet at Havneby Kro, which is particularly known for its seafood dishes and fresh produce.
